Nope..
The firmware you can download is the same. The differences are in model number, serial number and other unique values that are set at manufacture time.

On older iPhone models, some of these values have been changed after hardware disassembly and reflashing of chips. This can end up permanently damaging the iPhone due to overwriting unique encrypted data.

Each iPhone model, Apple has made it more difficult to physically remove chips without damaging them.

There is no solution for the iPhone 4 at present.

My advice - forget the locked and subsidised US iPhones. Buy a SIM free iPhone 4 - non subsidised directly from Apple UK.

Thanks for the info.. some guys in here are trying to sell iphone 4 US version unlocked is it a hoax or is there a way to unlock it?

Hoax right now. Bad idea in general.

Unofficial unlock and jailbreak are possible, but not ready or released yet.

As I said, you can get a legitimate officially unlocked iPhone in the UK, with UK warranty and power adapter - plus the ability to use it with any carrier and plan you want. This really is worth the extra money, never having to worry about "oops I upgraded and lost my unlock" - a problem we see far too often here on this forum.

If you want to jailbreak for reasons other than unlock, you still need to be careful about upgrades.

Exactly! I don't why people are wasting their money doing otherwise.
