I'm going there in a couple of weeks and I wanted to know if anyone has been able to walk into a store and buy a sim free iphone, and which branches am I more likely to find the phone in stock. Really appreciate the help, thanks everyone!

No Apple store in the UK has an iPhone in stock (: including London.

I had to get mines from the Apple store online, i waited 3 weeks. I suggest you order it now, it'll take atleast 2+ weeks to ship.

What bothers me though, only O2 supports the micro sim pay as you go. I was with Vodafone and if I want to use my iPhone, i have to move to O2.

Why haven't other networks bothered to get micro sims for their pay as you go customers?

They will not ship outside the country of purchase.

Some friends of mine used Borderlinx successfully to ship their UK-ordered phones to Singapore. You might want to register an account with them? I am not sure if you need to be a Citibank credit card customer first to use Borderlinx.

If you mail order the phone, I don't think you can claim VAT (a hefty amount), either.

Well my USA AT&T iPhone 4 is sitting patiently in its box, waiting for JB/Unlock... From all the chatter online - it seems its literally just around the corner (I hope). For what I paid for this one - IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNLOCKED ALREADY FROM APPLE - But that's another thread.

Not USA/AT&T iPhones - without regulatory change AT&T will never allow their iPhones to be unlocked.
