Default Buying an iPhone4 from the US

I want to buy and iPhone 4 from the US contract free.
But does that mean it will come with any sort of SIM to activate it?
if Not, how will I be able to activate then jailbreak?

Depends on where you get it. "Contract Free" phones from AT&T still require you to start service with AT&T, it's just not a 2 year commitment, as such, they come with a SIM.

If you buy from the Apple Store, you get no SIM and need to go to AT&T to get one.

That said, I am unaware of any possibility to hacktivate the iPhone4 yet. Current tools jailbreak and unlock, but require legitimate activation.

Easy way to get around this is to get an address book SIM or similar from AT&T, or a pay as you go SIM. They should work to bypass the activation itself.

Alternately, take a peek around, there are a few forum posts (specifically in the thread about JailbreakMe and the recent JB release) that discuss alternate methods to activate the iPhone 4 without an AT&T SIM.
