There is an app on Cydia that you can install on the iphone.
The app allows you set aside a certain amount of disk space for general storage thus making your iphone looks like a usb memory stick.

When connect to the computer (mac or pc), the iphone will show up as a disk drive.

I believe the software is called USB Drive and the source for it is apt.dmytro.me . More info here: Dmytro personal pages: USB Drive for iPhone beta is available

    The beta version is free.

I have not tried it so YMMV.

Just gave this a go on my iPhone 3GS and can confirm that it most definitely works! This is awesome! PartedMagic, UBCD and Win7 x86 Pro install are now bootable from my iPhone (via GRUB and this guide)

What do you say to that then Olethros!

I think it possible with your device only if you connect it as a modem. Or else you can connect it as a flash disk drive.

I know it is not exactly what you are looking for but I am using Datacase from the app store. If on a Mac the iPhone will show up as a network device. You can setup public and private directories for access. On Windows you can use Explorer to access.
As I said, it is not really working as a USB flash drive, but I love the product, use it for more than a year now.
