I have an interesting situation. I have searched for about 4 days now for an answer to my problem and can't seem to find one.

I have a used Iphone 3Gs that I got from a family member, only thing is, they dropped it in the water, but were able to restore it to a workable state. However, it seems that there is no data on the iphone. When the Iphone is turned on, it goes straight to recovery mode. I can't seem to get it to go into DFU mode, no matter what sequence or timing I press the home and sleep buttons.

When plugged into my PC, Itunes sees it, but its software Version is n/a, Capacity is: n/a, and serial number is n/a. and the name is "iPhone".

I've tried restoring it to a custom ispw, but I get error code 1604, I figure this might be because it has never been jailbroken before and since I can't enter DFU mode is why I'm getting that error.

Can anyone give me any help/suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated
