I've read error 23 is labeled as hardware error, but i don't have any clue.

So it seems i can't restore, and i suppose i can't call apple assistance because i could not erase anything from my iphone, since it crashed while it was fully jailbreaked.
I have moved your posts to this thread. The purpose of this thread is to help remove all traces of jailbreak so you can claim warranty. Error 23 is a hardware problem and can't be fixed with software.

    Thanks a lot.
So i've deleted itunes and the packages as shown on apple support pages, in terminal i've patched mobiledevice.
Now in A folder i've got the old mobilepatch, the mobiledevice_mac.patch and mobiledevice.new.
Started itunes, connect iphone, hold power and home, releasing power and itunes see iphone in recovery mode, click restore and still got error 23 (and a white screen while preparing for restore goes).
    Am i doing something wrong?

    Maybe two things

    1. You need to restart after uninstalling iTunes and other Apple packages
    2. The initial mac instructions were pretty thin - I posted more clear mac instructions later in the thread http://www.hackint0sh.org/f203/104422-5.htm#post489183 I think you have not run the last command line that moves the patched version back into the correct place.
      Code:
      sudo mv MobileDevice.new MobileDevice
Would recommend you start from the beginning with the updated instructions I mentioned above.

    Ok,
thanks again for specification, they were useful.
Redid everything from full cancelling itunes and mobiledevice.framework folder, restarting and empty trash.
Installing itunes 9.0.2, then apply patch with all commands as your post shows and restarting again.
Connect iphone, starting itunes, detect recovery mode and click recover.

    It goes.

In the end an error message because i forgot to put my sim in.
I disconnect, put my sim in but still no service, all i got is emergency screen. If i try to connect to itunes it says i need to activate my sim with pin number, but of course i can't. On iphone screen it still says no imei or iccid.

So my question is, it did well and the last part is normal because of hardware issue? Or the missing sim messed up and i need to redo everything? Is it possible to check iphone content? Is it empty?

    Thank you very much again.

It is relatively normal to be stuck on the connect to iTunes screen with this problem. You can't legitimately activate without the mobile part of the phone working (with error 23 it isn't)

99% sure that the iPhone is wiped now. If you want to be 100% sure post you iPhone updated log on pastebin and I can confirm

Hi guys, I have the same issue, I need help...

Ok, so I followed all the steps and I'm using iTunes 9.0.2

I get to bypass error 23 but after the part where iTunes says Preparing iPhone for restore... it just stays there and after about 5 minutes I get either error 1603/1604

    http://pastebin.com/embed_js.php?i=EKZkN2zu

    http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=JtULudzQ

I've tried all the firmwares I have, here's a list...

    iPhone1,2_2.1_5F136_Restore
    iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore
    iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore
    iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore
    iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore
    iPhone1,2_3.1.3_7E18_Restore

None of these ISPW worked, Any further advice guys ?

If you have not got the message yet - I'll repeat it.

Please post logs on pastebin.com or pastie.org and link to them in your post. The forum system here is not designed for long logs and it is really hard to follow threads that are full of quotes from logs.

Error 1604 is usually related to USB timing. This apple technote explains some troubleshooting techniques for this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275

Did you run through all the suggestions in that document? Different cable? With a USB hub? Let it restore - get the error and don't unplug or shutdown iTunes - just click OK and try the restore again? Another user account?
