This happens to legit users also. It is not related to jailbreak at all. Glad it helped.

but then i kept trying to follow the instructions by downloading the patch and everything thing, but im not to good at computers,

is there any ways i can talk to some one and they came give me step by step instructions on how to be able to restore my iphone enough just so i can take it in for warranty???

i will pay u if needed i just need to take my phone in to apple ASAP

The instructions are pretty clear. You need a specific version of iTunes which is also clearly stated. This forum is against the idea of payment for things that should be free.

What OS do you run? Where are you getting stuck. More details equals a better chance of getting help.

sorry i didn't mean paying some one in a bad way, k here is where i get stuck

i downloaded the 2 patches
i copied itunesmobiledevice.dll and i put it on my desktop so it doesn't get lost.

i copied patch bspatch.exe and the itunesmobiledevice.dll_902._win.patch and out them into
c:\program files\common files\apple\mobile device support\bin\

then i run a command promp and i type "cd c:\program files\common files\apple\mobile device support"

that is where i'm getting lost, im not even sure if what ive done so far is 100% correct

at home i use vista,

im at work right now and im in the process of downloading itunes 9.0.2 and this one is an XP by the way

k i downloaded itunes 9.0.2

i got the 2 patches and i put em in the folder
program files\ common files\ apples\ mobile device support\bin

or am i supposed to make another folder some where else with all 3 files??

i just noticed i got itunes 9.0.2.25 would it still work??
i cant find just 9.0.2

i really really appreciate the help
sorry for being so annoying and i wanna try n see if i can restore my phone to take it to apple today

9.0.2.25 is the correct version for windows. That is 9.0.2 on windows.

Dear members,
i wasn't able to find enough information to resolve my problem so i decided to wrote hoping to get some advices.
I've got since july a 3gs 16gb firmware 3.0, jailbreaked, never updated and never had any problems. Yesterday it went to emergency screen, and since then never got anything else. By the way i got my ecid saved on cydia, for all firmware starting from 3.0.

Tried different kind of thing:
- adding ip address from saurik to host file and restoring to 3.0;
- creating a custom 3.1.3 firmware with pwnage tool 3.1.5 and restoring to that;
- a simple and clean restore with updated itunes (with and without ip address from saurik on host file); lasts tentative with this ended up with a white screen.

Everytime i got error 23, or 1600.

I've read error 23 is labeled as hardware error, but i don't have any clue.

So it seems i can't restore, and i suppose i can't call apple assistance because i could not erase anything from my iphone, since it crashed while it was fully jailbreaked.

Any suggestion?
