Now im stuck in recovery mode, and it won't kick out, any help?
%APPDATA%\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Updater Logs - put the log file that failed with error 29 up on pastebin.com and put a link in this thread. That way we can see why it fails.

I tried the method and it worked, thanks...

before that I have error 23 too, and no IMEI number as well..
now that my sbsettings no longer appear on the lockscreen..
now I restore to FW 3.1.3.. haven't take to service center yet..

But will they able to trace whether my phone is jailbreaked?

If i success to claim waranty, even if 3.1.3 jailbreakable, I don't want jailbreak again..

    Using iPhone 3GS new bootrom.

The error 23 has nothing to do with the jailbreak or unlock. This is a problem that can occur for any iPhone owner even those who never jailbreak.

how about the no IMEI? Nothing to do with iPhone jailbreak as well?

    is because of hardware faulty?

    Most likely.
If the phone never jailbroken, take it to Apple.
If the phone was jailbroken, restore to stock firmware (if you can) to wipe all traces of jailbreak and take it to Apple.

Since I success bypass the error 23 and restore and update to 3.1.3, even the iPhone stuck at 'emergency call mode' and cannot be activated, the IMEI no. still unknown, however, the SBsetting no longer appear on the screen when I slide on the status bar..

I will bring my iPhone to apple center at monday~ thanks everyone

Default I think I fixed it!

I found a way to fix it!! Do everything that was suggested in the thread then
go to iH8sn0w.com | Jailbreak your iPod touches and iPhones and download the iREB.

After getting it running run the 3.1.2 grabber. Do everything it says until you get to submit. It will have an error but dont worry. After doing this the serial number should be back in iTunes, this allows you to fully restore your iphone!

Does restoring the phone using this patch completely removes all traces of jailbreaking and unlocking to claim replacement?

Yes, if you restore with an unmodified apple IPSW (simply clicking restore in iTunes will do this) and the restore is successful.

If iTunes offers to restore your iPhone from an itunes backup, you should say no to this step. However you should not get this message if you have error 23.
