    Default Showoff my iPhone 3GS

    Hey everyone,

Basically, i have an iPhone 3GS on firmware 3.1.3. I have jail broken the beast and installed things such as Barrel, Installous and snazzy ringtones.

I was wondering, like the Samsung Galaxy S, with the live wallpapers. Is this a feature i can obtain on the iPhone and if so where?

And generally i have a few friends with the same iPhone as me and i want to find something that i could show them and interest them in. Anyone know of any cool things i can do with my iPhone to attract the attention of other iPhone users and potentially aim them this way?

    Thanks for listening.

    Regards,

    Stevio

It's really a stupid thing to admit to being a pirate on this forum. We don't help pirates here.

Using the very dubious Installous to avoid paying for appstore apps is piracy. There is no justification for installulous except warez (which is illegal and as such not allowed here at hackint0sh.org)

You have no idea whether the "cracker" slipped in some extra trojan or virus into the app they shared on installulous. Plus piracy hurts the jailbreak scene financially and from a reputation standpoint. It's not necessary to jailbreak to run pirate software - but due to the actions of people like you, most average people think the opposite is true.

The people who make jailbreaks also sell software on Cydia (and on the appstore), if no one supports these developers then there will be no more jailbreaks.

Think about this and maybe you might want to revisit your decision to pirate iOS software.

I said i have it, i never use it. I work as an IT technician and know the risks of cracked software or second hand software. I don't use Installous, but it was put on there by my friend when i first got the iPhone and jail Broke it. I don't mind if you dont believe me as it doesn't effect my life. Talk of advice then, how can i remove it because when i hold the icon down till it starts shaking, it does not give me the option to delete it.

    Regards,

    Stevio

You can remove it via Cydia, however that will just remove Installous, it will not remove the long list of pre-requisite packages that Installous insists on installing. The only pre-req that I would recommend you definitely remove is AppSync - that can cause problems.

Remember that the moderators don't use Installulous so I can't be 100% sure that this is all you need to remove.

Note: applications installed via Cydia cannot be removed via the "hold down icon till it starts shaking" option.

I agree with Olethros about the Installous. It isn't fair to cut developers out of money for their work. But, for your original question about the live wallpapers. I'm sure if you go through Cydia and look through the themes and what not, that someone has made a theme that has live wallpapers. Actually, I am pretty positive because I installed one once. Having a live wallpaper will drain your battery faster. Also look through the tweaks section and install MobileNotifier. It is a really good notification system Apple should take a look at. There are quite a few things in Cydia that are pretty interesting. Some of the themes will cost money though.
