I used the purplerain way on my 3GS and now the push option in settings is gone. Do I need to redo it over again?

What's the name of the ipsw you are using for RedSn0w?

That's where you are going wrong. That's the ipsw for the 3G not the 3GS The one for the 3GS is the same name but starts 2,1 not 1,2

No probs - Apple don't exactly make it obvious, do they?

Just got my iPhone and made the exact same mistake. I could have sworn I downloaded the correct file but since 7 out of 5 n00bs are dyslexic, I should have doublechecked the file and saved myself a couple hours of grief. Other than that, the process went smoothly.

Apple's naming conventions don't exactly make it obvious - and once you've made the mistake it's very difficult to spot because you know you've doe it right!

    Glad you got it sorted.

I'm using redsn0w 0.8 and the ispw 3.0 both of which I downloaded multiple times to make sure.

Every time that I start redsn0w as soon I as pick the ispw to start the JB proceedure it quits suddenly. I haven't been able to get past selecting the ispw. What am I doing wrong?
