I have already have an iphone 3g on rogers, and my brother wants to purchase an iphone 3GS. since Rogers offers existing iphone 3g customer discounted price, so my brother wants to buy the iphone by using my rogers account with no contract. my question is if i buy the iphone for my brother, can my brother use it on his Fido account. In other words, can the officially unlocked iphone be used on another wireless carrier's network other than Rogers?

Official unlock = Can use any sim card
AT&T lock = Can only use AT&T sim card

Rogers doesn't sell the iPhone officially unlocked.
