    Default Problems with iPhone 3GS

    Hi,

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS (3.1.3; BB:05.12.01). Off late my iPhone has been behaving weirdly. Following are the issues am experiencing

    1. It freezes when i try to access my email and spring board automatically reboots itself multiple times before returning to normalcy.
    2. My screen blanks out and my phone turns off totally though i have enough battery charge left on my phone. When I try to reboot my iPhone it powers up but gets stuck on the apple icon screen and freezes their permanently. The only way i have been able to get around it is when i plug my phone into the charger.
If my phone has enough charge left it boots after a few minutes and it returns to normalcy. If I had tried rebooting like mentioned, when I put my phone on charge I find that the battery had been totally drained though there was enough charge originally left.

I had installed a few jailbreak apps on my phone like winterboard, lockinfo, activator, proswitcher etc.

Can someone help me find a solution to this? Even if it means I have to uninstall some of my apps!! Thanks in advance.

I would say try a restore of 3.1.3, then re-jailbreak. If that doesn't work i would try a battery replacement.

Did you have a SHSH for 3.1.3? You need that to restore to 3.1.3 now as Apple has stopped signing restore requests for everything below 4.1 (and they will stop signing 4.1 within a week or two also)

As for your other problem. Try greenpois0n or redsn0w to jailbreak and hacktivate

    Are you using custom firmware?

Try restoring and jailbreaking yourself...I've never had a problem like this. Mind you I never use custom firmware, I simply don't trust it.

Yes. I do have my SHSH for 3.1.3 and all the other latest OS releases. I will try Greenpoison and see if I can Jailbreak and hactivate. Thanks for the suggestion! I will let you know if I see any further issues

Hi! I am trying to jailbreak and hactivate through GreenPoison. But its been failing everytime. I havent restored it back to 3.1.3 but I am rather trying to jailbreak and hacktivate on my just upgraded 4.1. Am i missing something here? Should I first restore it to 3.1.3 before trying out 4.1? If so how do i restore using my SHSH? Thanks!

Hi! I managed to Jailbreak using LimeRa1N but now the problem that I found because of my upgrade is that my baseband has been updated along with my OS. Now am on iOS4.1 and my BB is 05.14.02. I understand that this baseband/OS cannot be unlocked.

I do have previous OS SHSHs. Can someone tell me how to downgrade it back to my old OS and BB and then relook at upgrading my OS without affecting my baseband? Thanks!

Try redsn0w or if absolutely necessary limera1n

    Where is it failing?

You shouldn't need to downgrade to 3.1.3 to fix this problem, however a restore of 4.1 might help (I'm assuming that unlock isn't important to you as you haven't preserved your pre 4.1 baseband)

    Hi,

Can I downgrade my baseband using my previous SHSHs that I have saved? I have SHSHs all the way back up to 3.1.3. Is that possible? Because I need to unlock my phone and use it? Thanks!
