No.. the SHSH has nothing to do with baseband on the 3GS. (don't confuse this with the iPhone 4 which does use the SHSH in the baseband upgrade/downgrade process)

No one has yet found a way to downgrade baseband via software on a 3GS. I doubt there will ever be a way.

It is possible but very difficult to downgrade baseband by physically desoldering the baseband chip and reprogramming it. This should only be attempted by those with the right equipment and experience.

Default iPhone 3GS stuck in recovery mode. PLEASE HELP!

Hi! I had a few issues with my iPhone 3GS (3.1.3; 05.12.01) and was recommended a restore. During the process of restore, my OS and firmware got upgraded to 4.1 and 05.14.02. I wanted to unlock and use my device as before so I tried downgrading my firmware (not sure if this is even possible).

I find a few guides to downgrade by firmware using Tiny umbrella. But I seem to be stuck in recovery mode. Can someone help me?

Tiny Umbrella just helps iTunes use the "saved SHSH". You need to have previously saved a SHSH for the iOS version you are trying to restore to. Right now Apple only issues SHSH for 4.1 - see SHSH - The iPhone Wiki for details and cutoff dates.

I have already explained this. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. Please read up about SHSH so you can understand why it is too late to fix your problem.

You are stuck with this baseband version. No software tweak can downgrade the baseband. An unlock is coming soon after iOS 4.2 is released (which could be any day now)

Please stop raising new threads, there are no other solutions.

Thread closed, wait for new ultrasn0w and be sure to back up your 4.1 SHSH before Apple stops signing it.
