Hi, i've tried to search about my problem but dint find any helpful so thought should start a new thread.

I have 3gs and its been restored to 3.1.2 and now it has only emergency call screen and not jailbroken not activated. What i want to do is just jailbreak nothing else. I have already tried with blackrain it doesnt solve my problem it does its process and then phone comes on but with same screen tried to restore the phone using cosutme firmware putting phone in recovery mode it gives error, putting phone in dfu mode it gives error. I dont have mac so have to use on windows OS. I have itune latest version 9.0 so anything can i do with it plz

Correct me if i'm wrong but i believe blackra1n only Jailbreaks the phone, not hacktivate it. What you need to do is borrow a friend sim card who's on ATT network to activate your phone.

oh yeah u are right but i'm in uk and the phone is on at&t thats the problem and i dont have any at&t sim with me so anything which can activate the phone thanks

This iPhone was not purchased very recently was it?

You should use pwnagetool 3.1.4 to make a custom ipsw of 3.1.2 and restore that.

I know you are not on a mac, so you need to get someone with a mac to help you make this ipsw.

If your phone is using the newest baseband then you will not be able to use it if you do not have the official carrier.
