Restore hangs 3gs

Hi - i tried to install custom 4.0 firmware last night but something went wrong. During the full restore it hangs for hours. When i reboot it shows the pineapple and then the steve jobs cartoon.

Whenever I try to restore it hangs during the process. No error messages. Tried DFU mode and recovery but i'm not sure if i'm able to correctly enter dfu mode.

Any suggestions?
