old custom firmware help

hi
anybody know how to load a custom 3.1.2 firmware to my i phone
im stuck in recovery mode from 3.0.1 and i dont want to upgrade to the latest one yet
or if with older itunes i can upload to ihone and what version of itunes is ok for that

Just use pwnagetool 3.1.4 or 3.1.5 to make a cust ipsw and load that.

If you were not jailbroken at 3.0.1 then you might have more problems.

problem is it was not jailbrocken at 3.0.1 and i dont have the firmware cause i did not backed it up but i got some off the net, problem is those i found are not a single ipsw file they are more files in one so how do i load that ipsw that i downloaded cause itunes dont recognize none of them

If you are not jailbroken at 3.0.1 then you NEED to actually use a mac and pwnagetool not just download a custom IPSW from the net. This is because Pwnagetool needs to ask you if you were pwned previously and if not it will pwn the 3GS for you.

The rules of this forum prevent us from linking to known good custom IPSW. This is because are custom IPSW files are considered warez once shared (it's 100% legal to make a custom IPSW and use it on your own computer - just not to share it)
