High all, I changed my iphone from 3gs to 4s 2 weeks after my second son was born and gave my 3gs to my wife. I didnt realise until 2 weeks later that I had lost the photos I took of my sons first day. I managed to get a 30gig iso image off the phone after much heartache, However all the software I have used thus far says the image is unmountable. Was hoping someone with expertise in this would be able to tell me if you need special software or if the image is just corrupt.

How was the image made? With a clamp on the chip or something or dd via jailbreak? This situation is difficult. If you deleted the images, there is a little chance you can recover them of the bytes at the disc. You need to run a good photo recovery software on the iso (MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE THAT!). Handle it like a broken harddisc, that might work.
did you do a restore on the 3GS?
Just run the device through an undelete programme? I do the same on camera flash cards, usb sticks etc.
same should work for the idevice right? Even if its been restored
