You cant buy a iphone without a contract from the apple stores or AT&T and they need ID to make sure your the primary account holder because only the primary account holder can purchase a iPhone for a account....You need ID and you need a Contract...If you dont have those i suggest Craigslist or Ebay but youll be paying at least 600 for the phone that way....

Yes you can buy an iPhone from either store without a contract at the "no commitment" price (32=$699 16=$599). I walked into my local Apple store two weeks ago and purchased a 32GB without a contract. I just used my cc and the genius ran it through his pda, never asked for my ID either.Quote:
