Bought used unlocked 3GS on 3.1.2, Erased all, Stuck
Looked around and couldn't find the answer so I'm hoping I can get some help. I've got a 3G that's been acting up on me so I bought a used 3GS on Craigslist that was unlocked on 3.1.2. Everything worked good, but as expected, I couldn't get it to sink with my itunes account without getting rid of the apps currently on it. No problem, I have plenty and requested itunes to just replace everything with my account/apps. For some reason the it wouldn't do it, every time it went to sync, it would start and then stop and none of my apps were on there, just my contact and calender info. I needed to be able to sync everything.
So I decided to General/reset/erase all content and settings thinking I would just start from a clean iphone and enter all my phone settings as I've done before. Phone had the apple logo for about 6 hours, figured it was stuck as everything I read was that it took about 1-2 hours to erase.
So....itunes, DFU/shift/restore a fresh install of 3.1.2 and I'll just jailbreak and unlock. But now itunes is giving me an error (after "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple" never seen that before) message of "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194)"
Looking up that error code brought me to a post on this forum....seems I'm a few days too late in going through this process....
Some guidance would be appreciated...at least I'm not down a phone for now as I still have the 3G. I do not know my baseband as I was planning on just staying at 3.1.2 for now and simply wanted to erase the prior owners data and start fresh....so I didn't look up the baseband (I know, I'm an idiot).
Looking for some advise on getting the 3GS up and running (any iOS version) and working on T-Mobile :)
