I'm trying to fix my friends iPhone 3Gs.
I was told that he jailbroke his phone using "jailbreakme" and accidentally upgraded his phone which caused the baseband to be corrupted.
I have tried so many fixes and no result.
I have tried restoring to 3.1.3, 3.1.2 , 4.1 in DFU mode through itunes like so many people suggest but I'm still stuck at the same place. I can get it to boot into the OS after restoring to 4.1 and then running limerain but when I do the phone shows No Wifi, No Imei, No Bluethoot, No Modem Firmware, and at that point it is stuck in a loop of shutting down and saying that the phone needs to be restored.I even tried upgrading the baseband to the ipad baseband at 4.1 but it never got past the "retstoring firmware" part in itunes.

The main issue seems to be that its getting stuck while restoring the firmware in itunes.
it installs the OS fine but when it gets to "restoring firmware" it just sits there and finally errors out with a 1002 error .
Ive been reading about wiping or "virginizing" the baseband but the only references I'm able to find are for version 1.1.1.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I hope what I said makes

Please read the instructions in this thread, http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/130802.htm and publish on a paste site some of your restore logs. Simply quoting an error number isn't often much help.

That only applies to one specific problem and only for 2G iPhones. The 3GS has a completely different baseband chip and wifi/modem firmware solutions for the 2G won't work on the 3GS
