Hey fellas, I as many others have joined the unfortunate group of people who recently bought the newest 3GS iPhone.
I've read many statements that the endless "recovery loop" is rather a "feature" than a bug and that we need someone to find another exploit in the new bootrom.
Question is, is there any special thread on this forum that shows progress (if any) on untethered 3GS JB? Or any other site that has more info?

You can follow the main jailbreak figures on twitter.

Status at the moment:

Geohot is bored and behaving immaturely with iPhone hacking and frustrated by the flood of n00b questions he has received due to blackra1n requiring a bit of technical understanding to use to achieve a full featured jailbreak. So he is not interested in looking for a new exploit.

The Dev Team are looking into this, and all other active issues related to jailbreak and unlock. It is not getting a lot of priority because none of them find the iPod Touch 3rd gen very interesting and few if any have actually bought one. If they do find an exploit, they may choose to keep it for the 4th gen iPhone which is pretty much finalised hardware wise now.

I would not trust information from any other team, except possibly the ChronicDev team who have been quite silent since they prematurely revealed details of the 3.1.2 exploit.
