Default Need help with my iphone 3GS.

Okay. well i have an iphone 3gs. and the problem is. i really dont know what firmware it was on before it got bricked.

well it was running fine(already jailbroken) until i accidently hit the Erase all memory thingy(wasnt much of an accident though) anyway.. well it went into the apple logo. n then it was hung there for days.

well i did try to jailbreak it my self while looking at sme tutorials online. but it wasnt much of a help. i used redsnow to get it into DFU mode. and after i downloaded the 2,1 firmware. and when i hit the SHIFT key to sellect it.. itunes says that the firmware is not compatible...

    and then i gave up.

so here i am now again.. could any 1 PLEASE help me out here?? :\

Firmware not compatible means you accidentally downloaded firmware for a different model device than the one it's trying to restore to. iClarified has good links to all iOS revisions that are direct from Apple's servers -- I recommend you start there. As you noted, erase all content and settings erases iOS as well, and since you're on a 3GS, you will need an SHSH to restore to any version of iOS that is not currently being signed. Do you have any SHSH on file for this device?
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.

    iPhone 4, 32GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n | SHSH: 4.0 - 6.1.2)
    iPad 2 3G, 64GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n
    |
    SHSH: 4.3 & 4.3.3 - 6.1)
