i wish to buy a new iphone and unlock it
but i have a few questions unanswered

1) i will be a new at&t user so is the cost of iphone 16gb version 199$ inclusive of the plan rate?


2) ive heard that once it is unlocked you cannot connect to the apple website again for they might lock it completely is it true?

1. the 199 is the discount price of the phone, the rate plan is what you will pay extra, howdid you intend to unlock it?

2. the whole thing with apple is if you update the software on the phone it will relock it and with the 3gs and 3g its harder to unlock it once its been officially updated

wat i meant was get the phone for 199$ bring it to india unlock it using devteam method and use it kind of pay get an iphone and walk out

You can only get it for $199 with a 2 year contract. I think you might have difficulty getting a contract if you live in India...

I am confused about your post. As you said I need $199 to pay first then in two years I would have to pay the rest. In how many instalment I would pay the money?

With 2 years contract means you have to be their (ATT) member/customer for two years period w/out cancellation. (straight 2 years). If you buy the phone only w/out contract it'll be much more$$.

I un-locked mine and connect to apple and itunes often and it has never been locked back....
