Default iphone 3GS signal issue after iOS 5 jailbreak

Hi, I recently jailbroke and unlocked my iPhone3GS after upgrading to iOS5. I am experiencing severe and frequent drop signal in signal and my wireless connection also drops along with my signal. I jailbroke my iPhone with redsnow 0.9.9b4 and unlocked with ultrasnow 1.2.4 . Is there a fix for this issue? Please let me know.

Is this the same phone you mentioned in the other thread that is on 06.15? If so, did you use the version of redsn0w and ultrasn0w that were updated to resolve the GPS fix and other baseband issues caused by the 06.15 baseband on iOS 5? Let me know and I'll know how to help troubleshoot.

    Thanks!

ultrasn0w itself has been updated to iOS 5 and the redsn0w jailbreak v0.9.9b6/b7 have upgraded support for 06.15 on iOS 5 for 3GS devices. I'm not 100% certain it completely resolves the GPS issues, but it does fix a lot of the problems people have been having with iOS 5 activations using the 06.15 baseband.

    Read up on it here:
    Dev-Team Blog - redsn0w iOS5beta

Update #14: We’ve released version 0.9.9b6 of redsn0w, with both a functional fix and cosmetic fix for iOS5 jailbreakers. For iPhone3GS owners with the 06.15 baseband, this redsn0w eliminates the network crash you saw when using Location Services in iOS5 (in fact, you don’t even need to disable Location Services anymore during the initial setup). The cosmetic fix is to the visual countdown you see when going into DFU mode.
It’s okay to re-run this redsn0w over an existing device jailbroken at iOS5. Just choose “Jailbreak” again and de-select Cydia (in other words, all the checkboxes will be unchecked). If you are lucky enough to have an old-bootrom iPhone3GS, please pre-select the IPSW first (redsn0w can’t yet auto-detect the FW version of your old-bootrom 3GS if it’s already been jailbroken).

Hi, Yes its the same phone. Let me try to jailbreak it again with the upgraded RedSn0W. Do I need to back it up or any other special instructions before I attempt to jailbreak it again?

As always, I recommend a full backup before doing anything jailbreak related, just to make sure -- but it's not required. You can re-jailbreak and just don't check the install Cydia box, per the instructions.
