Default [iPhone 3GS][FW Unknown] iPhone Disabled

    Hello everyone,

Here is my problem, My boss gave me a brand new iPhone 3GS 32GB to fix it for him (it belong to his relative), his 7yrs daughter managed to put a passcode and she does not remember it they tried many times and now the phone is "iPhone is disabled".

Thats fine since the phone is still new and no data on it I went to restore it BUT the problem is:

1- iTunes gives error and wont accept any firmware ver. even the latest from iTunes it self.

2- I have no Idea what so ever which firmware its sitting on, but based on the S\N on the box: (88019) its very new.

3- Not sure if it is jailbroken BUT I tried different SIM cards (vodafone, etc..) and it was working and could receive calls.

Other than the above info I dont have more I think..

Any Help would be very much appreciated as I have been searching a lot the last couple of dayz..

My suggestion is put the phone in DFU mode and restore, it should accept now.

While unlikely (due to s/n) you could try to modify your hosts file and try restoring to 3.1.3 or 3.1.2 (in case the phone has SHSH blobs on file with Cydia) but there's a new jailbreak right around the corner anyway, it's up to you. (You could also ask him if Cydia was installed).

Also, while I am 100% sure, I think if you connect the phone to the itunes it is synced you can restore with no problem.

My suggestion to him also but he told me he doesnt know, but I gave the phone to one of my work colleague and he gave it to some guy into phones and he fixed it, now I asked my friend to know how exactly he did it, and if I got the steps I will post it here....

    Thankx for your help anyway..
