    Unhappy Iphone 3GS 3.1.2/05.11.07 Not Turning On After Jailbreak

    Hello Everyone,

    Moderators ::

    i Don't know whether it's the correct place to post this thread..if not please move to the respective sub forums.

    I tried to unlock & Jailbreak iphone 3.1.2 with redsn0w 0.9.3 .

    But when the jailbreak is finished my iphone was about to reboot but it's not turning on.

    and the iBoot version is 359.3.2

    But when i connect the cable to my PC .A message pops up in itunes saying the iphone is in Recovery mode and there is no info in the summary.

    Please help me guys ....is there a way to turn it on and to unlock/jailbreak.

    Advance Thanks

    Do you have your 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 SHSH on file?

    No. iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.0.1 cannot presently be jailbroken while running on a 3GS. The only way to jailbreak iOS 4.0/4.0.1 on a 3GS is to have a pwned LLB and to restore a custom (pre-jailbroken) firmware to the device (created with PwnageTool). As you need a pre-jailbroken device, you need to be able to downgrade to a firmware that can be jailbroken, hence everyone talking about having 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 SHSH files on record. If you don't have those, you can definitely upgrade to iOS 4.0.1, but it's not going to help -- and as always, the dev-team and the forum moderators recommend STRONGLY AGAINST upgrading to new firmwares until the tools are out that allow them to jailbreak.

    Even if your phone is a brick right now, don't do something stupid and make it a brick for 6 months by not getting your 4.0 SHSH and then upgrading to 4.0.1. There's no guarantee that the tools will jailbreak 4.0.1 and it would definitely suck to see the tools get released but only see them work on 4.0 -- leaving you still out in the cold until another jailbreak was released.

    Since 4.0.1 does have a new baseband, it will impact the future unlock capabilities as well -- so yet another reason to stay far, far away from it until the dev-team releases PwnageTool that works with it so that you can upgrade your phone without upgrading the baseband.

    Not without SHSH for these iOS versions.

    You need to do a DFU mode restore to get out of your current problem. The 3GS DFU mode restore will only proceed with a valid SHSH for the iOS version being restored.

    Apple now only issues SHSH for iOS 4.0.1 which can't be directly jailbroken on a 3GS right now.
