Hi

I've tried to solve this problem for a while now.

When I get a incoming call I just see the phone number in the display. Alltough the exact number is in my phonebook under a named contact.

When I afterwards look through my latest calls the name is dislayed.

What to do, what to do?

I have googled for an answer and searched the forum.

Pls help.

Im on 3GS, JB 3.1.2

Are you unlocked on an unofficial carrier? Or are you using it with the provided carrier? Sometimes you need to get certain packages that allow Caller ID on different carriers as the numbers can be reported in different ways to the phone... Let us know and you'll probably get closer to a solution.

Im on a unofficial carrier. The phone is factory unlocked though (from Italy).

There are a couple of solutions for this. Depending on how it occurs.

Firstly - what do you see under carrier and network in Settings - General - About? A friend had this problem with a Norwegian carrier, the iPhone kept on deciding his SIM card belonged to an Italian network operator (the phone was purchased unlocked from Australia).
Solution for him was to request a replacement SIM from his carrier (Onecall - Norway) and this fixed his problem.

Secondly, have you tried setting your regional settings to Sweden?

Thirdly, there are hacks, but the first two things can help without even needing to jailbreak.

I had the same problem and nothing worked with my factory unlocked.
This is why I jailbroke it and installed "Caller ID & Format Fix" (cydia - ispazio repo).
it resolves this problem but I am still looking for other solutions as I am currently tethered and All I need is the number fix!

I installed this package from cydia and it seems to have solved My problem.

Regional settings and carrier information were allready correct.
