We will need information on what error you're getting when you restore from backup -- just having the ipad baseband should not affect your ability to do backups through iTunes... What is the error you get? Do you mean restoring iOS itself from an .ipsw? Or just restoring the data contents from an iTunes backuop?

iPhone 4, 32GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n | SHSH: 4.0 - 6.1.2)

is just restoring data contents, like photos, contacts and videos from an iTunes backup made this morning. It says the phone could not be restored because an error ocurred, thats it, no error code number. The phone says restore complete and the is reboots, but itunes gives the error and the backup is not on the phone

Please take a look here:
http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/130802.htm
And see if you can get any of the logs there and post to a paste site like pastebin so we can review. I know you're not doing an iOS restore, but you can still find pertinent log files in the same location that relate to sync.

That is not an iTunes restore log. That is a crash log. Also you need to publish it on a pastesit, not include the whole log in a reply like you just did.
Please read the stickies & search forum before posting!

Glad the problem was solved, but can you let us know what it was? That way if anyone searches in the future they'll find the solution as well as the problem.
With regard to the 3GS, use tinyumbrella+SHSH to do the restore of 4.1, the baseband will not be upgraded, and then rejailbreak and reinstall ultrasn0w.

My brother told me he had dropped it in the toilet about a month ago, then he made a couple of backups after that, so im guessing the data on the backup was corrupted, because it did put the pics back on the phone, but the contacts n app data didnt get put on the phone.
Thanx for the info man
