Help a n00b who doesn't really know much about this. Wiping a jailbroken phone.
Hey Everyone bear with me here, this is all pretty new stuff to me.
I recently bought a jailbroken phone from a buddy of mine.
the phone was originally meant for a different service provider then the one i use.
i would like to sync the phone with my computer so that i can upload all of my music onto it. (it still has my friend's music and files loaded to the phone)
If i sync the phone with my itunes will it still work with my service provider?
Thanks,
Spen.

There are plenty of threads explaining that you should NOT use "erase all content and settings" (99% of the time this is the WRONG choice).
If you need to unlock via ultrasn0w (you mention that the phone was sold intended for use on another service provider than yours) then you need to be well prepared and informed before taking any action.
It has been explained before how to remove existing music/files from a phone without actually wiping the entire phone. This has become a bit more complex on iOS 4.x but should still be possible.
