Have to restore to 3.0 but how...?
Hi,
I sold my iPhone and now I'm just preparing to erase all content in it, however i know I can't update to 3.1 otherwise the unlock won't work anymore..
So I thought I would be clever and just erase all content and settings within the phone, however now the phone doesn't start anymore, it keeps restarting, hanging on the apple logo screen with the wheel coming up and then restart again
I tried restoring to 3.0 in DFU mode via iTunes but as you all know it doesn't work..
So I'm stuck here with this iPhone useless for now.. what should I do?
Thank you so much!!

Do you know if you have your 3.0 ECID SHSH on Saurik's server?
Its possible to restore @ 3.0 firmware if you have

Hate to say it but this is a common problem when doing an erase of Jailbroken devices. You've got effectively three options at this point:
1) If your ECID/SHSH is on file with Cydia (you had the opportunity and elected to have Cydia "make your life easier"), you can use the Dev-Team's method of re-applying 3.0 to the device after modifying your hosts file to point to Saurik's server.
2) If you do not have your ECID/SHSH on file with Cydia, you may be lucky enough that you can use iRecovery to pull out of the infinite reboot cycle -- but this is very hit or miss. Some people have no problem doing this, other devices (like mine, last time this happened) are entirely unresponsive to the process.
3) If you can't do Step 1, and you're not lucky enough for Step 2 to work, you'll want to wait for the PwnageTool to be released for 3.1 for the 3G[S] -- then you can upgrade to 3.1 without modifying the baseband.
