Default Downgrading. Possible to use irecovery & libusb-win32-filter-bin in Windows 7?

    Hi there,
    I currently own a 3GS 32GB iPhone which came with 3.1.3 installed.
I used spirit to Jailbreak it.

When pwnage 4.0 was released, it said that it would no work with my phone unless it had the old bootloder. Going off my serial number, I established production week was 10, and hoped for the old bootloader, but unfortunately I am unable in install the custom firmware.

I then tried to downgrade back to 3.1.3 using iRecovery and libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.12.2.exe but it looks like it doesnt work with windows 7.

Anyone know how I can downgrade my phone with windows 7?

I dont really wanna reinstall vista just to downgrade my phone.

    Cheers
    Kev

Did you have a SHSH backed up on Cydia or locally for 3.1.3? If not then there is NO way to restore back to 3.1.3 for you. Apple has stopped authorising such restores and there is no way around this for new bootrom 3GS.

These guides that say week 40 refer to week 40 of 2009 ie a serial number like xx940 your iPhone was made in week 10 of 2010 ie a serial number like xx010. Going by week number is really quite useless - the only 100% thing is to check the bootrom version via DFU mode.

Yes I have backed up my SHSH.
I have downgraded it once already, but that was on a MacbookPro which I no longer have access too. Would like to downgrade it again but this time using Windows 7.

    Anybody?
My SHSH for 3.1.3 has been backed up. I dont need an unlock, just jailbreak.
I know it can be done (downgraded to 3.1.3 and jailbroken) as I have done it using my friends MacBookPro. But he has gone interstate and I won't have access to that until next week.

I just need to know how to use iRecovery and libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.12.2.exe so that it works under "Windows 7". I have tried "Run as Administrator" with compatibility mode for "Windows XP SP2" but it didn't work.

My iPhone feels naked while it is unjailbroken =o(

    --update--
I have used another PC with Vista installed and successfully downgraded.
I would still like to know the answer, if anyone out there can enlighten me...
    Cheers

Not sure what to tell you. I run Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and libusb works when installed under compatibility mode for Windows XP + with Driver Sig Checking disabled.

(Windows x64 requires WHQL certified drivers, you have to disable that to use things like libusb since the drivers are not signed. If you're running x64, I bet that's your problem. To fix, press F8 during boot and pick the 'Disable Driver Signing'. That's a one-time-boot option, to set permanently, search around on the internet, there's ways to do it.)
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.
