Unhappy Cydia Error (suddenly everything is empty!)

For no apparent reason, suddenly Cydia is giving me the following message:

"Error: Database Encountered a section with no Package: header".

Result=> Everything is empty! (Empty / nothing in: "Sections, Changes, Packages, Sources". "Search also returns nothing) :-(((

I will really appreciate any help, other than rejailbreaking of course ;-)

    Cheers,

    m.

P.S. Phone is factory unlocked 3GS, FW 3.1.3 (Everything worked just fine till now).

there is no problem with cydia. You just have a bad source, search "cydia problems" and you should find instructions on how to remove bad repos.

Could be a bad db as well. I've had perfectly good sources end up in a corrupt db and similar symptoms the OP. I hate to say I can't remember the directions to manually delete and replace the Cydia database, but I'd venture that doing so would solve the problem if you haven't recently added or removed any sources.

There are several ways to delete the bad data.

    1. Via ssh if you have openssh on the phone.
    - ssh to the phone
    - login as root and supply password "alpine". Note: alpine is the default password unless you changed it which is highly recommended.
    - cd /var/lib/apt/lists
    - rm *
if you have something in partial directory then:
    - cd /var/lib/apt/lists/partial
    - rm *

    2. Using ifunbox and delete the same stuff mentioned above.

Hopefully this will help Cydia to startup correctly again
