Comparison b/w iphone 2G/3G/3GS ?
Hi,
After the Gizmodo liveblog,
I'm pretty confused, what's the actual difference b/w 3G/3GS etc..
like It doesn't make it clear, if Video rec. will be available for 2G & 3G, and compass app for 2G & 3G, & the voice control for 2G.
Are these Hardwarebased or software based ?
Even the apple website doesn't clearly mentions, the difference ?
So if anyone could clearly mention, what's the Hardware/software Difference/limitations b/w 2G/3G/3GS in this manner -->
2G:2MP
3G:GPS, HSDPA, bluetooth 2.0, 2MP
3GS:GPS, HSDPA, bluetooth 2.1, 3MP (auto focus), nike+,
It would make alot easier for all of us.
MOD, It wud be gr8 if u could update the first post itself !

The firmwares will be different, it will contain more or less apps for each model. I think 3G won't be getting the video app.

I guess this link iPhone - Apple Store (U.S.) has all the information you are looking for.
In summary, 3G-S has all current 3G features, plus 3MP camera with auto focus, video recording, voice controls, compass, and up to 32Gb.
Original iPhone owners will not get MMS nor Stereo Bluetooth. No idea if Stereo Bluetooth will be available to current 3G owners.

Stereo BT works fine on the 3G The compass is hardware I believe but I would not be surprised if voice control and Video are not activated on the 3G soon - even though Apple wont support it.
He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.
iPhone 4 locked to T-Mobile. 4.1 Limera1n'd

I can easily see a JB 3rd-party app being released for voice control. It does seem like a new voice recognizing module that senses words much clearer, but it does seem like it can be done by developers. The 3rd-party video app, Cycorder works but at a crappy FPS, but works. It's free and i don't mind the quality of video or audio.
