#Anyway to full backup or Clone Iphone? Need to get a new 3gs , and clone my old
I going to get a new 3gs iphone, since my current display having problem.
Is there a way to clone the entire iphone and transfer to the new iphone.
My iphone is jailbroken with Spirit JB. Firmware 3.1.2. Installed programs from Installous and cydia.
Any way to clone the iphone so there is no need to reinstall them again?
Please anyone advise, i am sure alot of people wanted to know this too.
There are system files stored in and about the iPhone are are specific to -- among other things the devices IMEI (more exist but can't remember). This make a perfect clone/restore impossible. Using Unix/Mac/iPhone rsync one could back up everything, including file permissions, ownerships, etc. This could then be placed on a different phone but it won't work. No-one really knows which files must be modified because of these unique characteristics.
Even with the same phone ... no one that I'm aware of has used this process successfully for a complete restore.
People use this procedure (rsync) all the time on computers, it'll never happen on an iDevice. Give all your thanks to Apple. The restrictions are artificially imposed.
