Default 3GS Stuck in recovery mode 3.1.2

    Hi guys,

I am looking for help, I have a 3gs 3.1.2 which is week 1 of 2010. I have tried to jailbreak it using blackra1n however it is now stuck in recovery mode.

I dont want to upgrade it to 3.1.3 as I will lose the jailbreak and unlock.

Is there a way to kick out of recovery mode?

What shall I do now? I am using a mac 10.5

    Let me know

Try iRecovery -- if the phone is just stuck in a reboot loop this may be able to kick it out. Secondarily, and I know this sounds weird, I've had good results keeping the device plugged into my computer and rebooting my computer. I don't know why it works, I don't know how it works, but I've done that three different times and had it fix issues for me.

Other option is to try pwnagetool -- one of the first steps it does is kick the phone out of recovery if it notes that it is in recovery.

    Good luck!

pwnagetool will not work with device with new bootrom.
Be VERY careful with new bootrom

Depends on why it is in recovery mode.

If it is the normal "restart and into recovery mode" you can use either redsn0w 0.9.x or blackra1n RC3 to kick it out of recovery mode. Only try this once, if it does not kickstart the phone, you likely have another problem.

There are other reasons for recovery mode and they generally don't have such easy solutions.

Thanks for the info -- I was unaware pwnagetool had incompatibilities with the new bootrom. Important to know!

Yeah, Dev Team forgot to mention this on the main blog.
If you use pwnagetool 3.1.5 on device with new bootrom, it will throw your device into a DFU hell that you cannot get out unless you restore to stock 3.1.3 . So be very careful. Everyone should check the bootrom version first via DFU mode and not by guessing using the week production number
