Default 3gs problems with pushg notifications and Find My Iphone

    Hi there
    I have a 3gs with running 5.0.1 and on BB 6.15.
I know some 3gs phones have gps issues running 6.15. But, is it possible to run Find My Iphone? I have it installed, turned on, notifications turned on, locations services on, and I still seem to be unable to locate my phone. Any suggestions? (Ipusher doesnt seem to be working either).

Thanks so much for any help!

Find My iPhone relies on GPS and I do not believe it functions when your GPS is impacted by the 06.15.00 baseband.

nickname-- is there a reason why my push notifications wouldn't work either?
    Thanks again!

Most likely, you hacktivated the phone to get past initial activation (I'm assuming, since you're on 06.15.00 that you needed to unlock, etc.). If so, then to get proper push notifications/certificates you'll need to download SAM (search the forums or google, it's all over), install it, use it to revert your lockdownd to stock, then set the SIM card type in the SAM settings app, then let it attempt to activate in iTunes.

Alternately, you can get PushDoctor from Cydia, but I believe that is not a free package.

Thank you! Using SAM and the instructions here seems to have worked. I can now use FindMyIphone, even with BB 6.15-- its all about Push notifications apparently.
    Thanks very much

It must use the cell-tower triangulation to give you an approximate location. I know that the iPhone uses 'A-GPS', which is assisted by cellular data, etc., so that could be how it can still determine your location without GPS functioning. Glad to hear this got things working for you!
