Tnx for the update. Did you jailbreak it after the 3.0.1 update?

Jailbreak of 3GS failed to complete
I just bought a factory-unlocked 3GS but unable to jailbreak. Process always hangs on: "Waiting to reboot". I've left it at this step for 15 minutes with nothing happening and had to cancel process.
I am using redsn0w 0.8 and have 3.0.1 update. Followed all the usual steps but hanging on last step to reboot. Should this last step take long and if so, how long? Or am I doing something wrong? thx

Once on the "Waiting for reboot screen" unplug and plug the iPhone again.
No more than 2 secs between those.

What about when I get a locked iPhone 3GS from the US?
My case:
- a friend of mine will buy me a 3gs from the us apple store (599€, as an upgrade to his existing 3G with at&t contract)
- he will sell me the 3GS
- I want to jailbreak and activate it
- I want to juse push notification
How do I proceed?
What does "activation in this case really mean? Does it mean that when I do the activation via iTunes BEFORE jailbreaking the 3GS that my friend will have a NEW at&t phone contract???
I'm a little confused!
As far as I understod you have to activate in order to get a "correct" certificate for the phone on apple servers, right?
There are rumors in other forums that you have to save 2-3 files from your current 3GS in order to be able to jailbreak/unlock in the future as well.
What about this subject?
Thank you for your answers!
