    Default Downgrading to 2.0.1

i have an unlocked 3g with 2.0.1 jailbroken, if i updated to 2.0.2 so i can change the boot and restore images, will i have to jailbreak it again and install all the apps i have installed now? Is there anyway that i can change the boot and restore images without upgrading to 2.0.2 or jailbraking it again? And, how can i keep my contacts in case i do a restore???

    Thanx

Whenever u restore you have to jailbreak. Back up your files, Restore to 2.0.2 and Quickpwn it changing ur boot screen..

It depends. If u r jailbreaking the current firmware on ur iphone then no need to restore or update. If u wanna upgrade, yes u have to jailbreak the new firmware on ur phone.

For exmpl: If u r on 2.0.2 and u only want to jailbreak then no need to restore or update. But if u wanna upgrade it is better to restore the the newest version and u have to jailbreak it...

i was reading the instructions on iclarified and it says the phone will be restore to the firmaware of my choice, im confused, ok, i jailbroke my 2.0.1 firmaware with quickpawn, now i want to jailbreak it again with winpawn, so, if i use the same custom 2.0.1 firmware used with quickpawn, do i have to restore the phone and loose all the apps i have now?

If you want to change boot loader image you could use logome from Cydia.
    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...ge+boot+images

If you "restore" you will lose any 3rd party apps and will need to re sync all the itunes app's/ipa's/music/pictures/etc.

But if your updating to a higher firmware why not go all the way to 2.1?

    It's less buggy then 2.0.2

i already have 2.1 or 2.0.1, don't know if it's the same, and jailbroke it, i just want to jailbreak it with winpawn 2.5 now, to see if i get the isms or the smsd apps on the installer or cydia and to change my restore logo, but if i already jailbroke 2.0.1 and jailbreak it again, will it restore the phone again and loose the 3rd party apps and all that?

Yes restoring with a custom made firmware/ipsw created with winpwn will remove all 3rd party apps, so you will need to reinstall them again afterward.
