As curious as everyone. I have an iphone3g i bought for my GF and it sits in the house as a gloried IPOD Touch since I cant switch over her phone service.

She has T-Mobile USA, it is running 2.0.2 Jailbroken. Don't want to jump to 2.1 as I have hoped that people have been working on 2.0.2 all this time.

No timeline at all. The last thing we heard was from the dev team that they were making "slow but steady progress". That was about 1½ month ago.
So, no timeline at all.

I really hope it's released soon cause I'm waiting for an iPhone 3G I bought on eBay.

As said before, no timeline. Dev Team are currently working in it. But as they said, nobody knows when (and if) a 3G unlock will be available.

Options:

1) Sell it and buy an unlocked iphone.

2) Buy one of the many add on sim solutions starting at $30 USD.

3) Wait.

I use the Gevey 3G because you don't have to cut your sim, it just tapes on to your current sim. Check out the sim and marketplace sections for more info.

I bought the iphone 3G on ebay and it came with 2.0.2 FW already installed.

I understand from Dev-Team dont upgrade to 2.0.2 because iphone might not be unlockable in future.

How do i downgrade to 2.0.1 to avoid this?
If I cannot downgrade should I just upgrade to 2.1 FW and would that be fine ofr future unlocking?

I really look forward to an answer...thanx in advance

Upgrade to 2.1 using pwnage tool. As of now the baseband cannot be changed.

Does anybody have idea about progress on 3g unlock
