Tethering on 3.1 firmware
I have a regular T-Mobile Germany iphone (no jailbrake or unlock) version 3.1 (7C144) and modem firmware 05.11.07.
As far as I know, internet tethering will not work for me. Is there any way to jailbrake the phone to get it to work? I will still be using a regular T-Mobile sim card, so I guess I don't need to unlock the phone.
Or am I getting this completely wrong?
Thanks for your help

All the tethering hacks are for 3.1.2 so you should upgrade to that version before you jailbreak.
This does not change your modem firmware at all.
Otherwise, yes you need to jailbreak and apply the tethering patch then upload a modified ipcc to enable tethering.
