Okay, so ...
Strange water damage behavior.
Hey guys, this is my first post here, looking to find some answers!
Okay, so my iPhone got some pretty severe water damage. Then someone dropped it and the screen broke. Here are the symptoms:
1. Broken screen...duh
2. The touch screen (digitizer) is unresponsive
So here is what I did. I bought a cheap new digitizer on eBay (maybe my first mistake?) and I installed it. The screen is STILL unresponsive, I have a new digitizer in the mail, hoping that will work?
So here is my question. If the LCD turns on just fine, and the sound works (I can hear the beep when I plug the phone in to charge), but the touch screen is unresponsive - Could the problem be with the logic board? I mean, the LCD works, and the other buttons are responsive (I can hold the lock button to get to the shut down slider - but it won't respond to sliding)...
Also, I don't have a SIM at all in the phone, could that make the touch screen unresponsive (seems unlikely).
Sorry for the long post, I know those sentences above are too long and they'll take a few readings to understand the actual questions. Thanks again!
