I've bought the iPhone 1 month ago from mobinil. I'm also very sad that gps is not working.
But here I found a solution, praise be to Allah (= God).
Can anybody tell me exactly what I have to do to activate it. I don't have any idea how to access files from the iPhone etc.. So please explain it very very good.

Can anybody tell me what is the best way to jailbreak it? Is it the PwnageTool?

For some questions here popping up: The iPhone has to be jailbroken, use Quickpwn. Otherwise you could not copy the modified locationd.

This is for firmware 2.2 only! So if you are on a legit iPhone contract in Egypt OR using a factory unlocked iPhone: This solution is made for you.
Same applies to ppl travelling Egypt with a factory unlocked iPhone or roaming with a legit plan from a different country.

If you are using a *sim solution with your iPhone, upgrading to firmware 2.2 is NOT recommended, cause you'll have problems using an upcoming unlock! Si this is NOT a solution for you.

There is a readme coming with the file!!

Cause you are talking about PwnageTool, you are probably on a Mac, right? Use Quickpwn 2.2 for Mac to jailbreak the iPhone first. Plus read my post above: this is for users at firmware 2.2 with a legit contract or those with a factory unlopcked iPhone.

The patch is for firmware 2.2 only. If you are using a *sim solution upgrading to 2.2 is not recommended by the dev team. The upcoming software unlock will not cover the 2.2 baseband.
