So you mean that my phone is not made for my country and thatīs why it appears as it does?
    Please give me an explanation.
If you check the above link it implies that the iPhone is from the US, made for AT&T. Did you buy the iPhone a a carriers shop or at a retailer?

I have always advised people to check the MODEL Part number before they purchase any iPhone 3G.
It seems many people have been conned thinking its Officially Unlocked Model.
Don't trust the Model Number that has been displayed on the Box. They need to check from the iPhone itself.

The thing is that my first phone was bought in the official store in Sweden and that modelnr. was right for Sweden:MB496KS/A. After that I got a new one from the repairstore who do all the service here. That modelnr. I got now is: MB048LL. An it has happen with both phones serverals times. I canīt see that this has anything to do with my simproblems..

Its obvious that you got conned by that repairstore where you purchased the iPhone 3G! They sold you an AT&T set which locked to AT&T. Its using a hardware turbosim solution soldered inside your iphone.

To add one to this: Inform the police and Telia. What those guys (probably) did is the following. They kept your telia iPhone and gave you an AT&T locked one, probably soldered a *sim inside. Once you upgrade firmware, restore or stuff like this it is locked. It may even be locked completely one day. Plus, cause it is probably opened by those guys - so Apple's guaratee is gone.

But this phone has not been locked more or less than my first one from telia. I canīt see any difference between this two in this case. I had also upgrade and been used my backup and it still working.
