Default [Rogers] Canadian consumers, consider this petition please

If you are with rogers or a Canadian consumer please consider this petition for rogers.

    http://www.petitiononline.com/iPhone99/petition.html

I have been thinking about the fact that, as of today june 22, Rogers has not come out with price plan details (ANY) for the iphone while most other networks that will carry the iphone has.

I realized Rogers is not going to offer us anything decent. It is taking them this long enough time to formulate something different than AT&T. This could mean it is highly likely that we will again be paying the most and getting the least in comparison to the rest of the world. Not even the iPhone can fix this for us.

Still really crappy if you ask me! Look at the outgoing sms...! You will need the extra $15 dollar a month communication package to get 2500 outgoing sms message allotment.

Fu*kin hate rogers/fido here in Canada. Even 3rd world countries have better plans. Hopefully opening up the telecom industry to private companies will do the trick.

    iPhone (OTB 1.1.1 / Currently 3.1)
    Unlock, activation, jailbreak: PwnageTool 3.1

I don't get this... anyone that's been using an iPhone in Canada for the past year knows the current $65 data rate for 1 GB that's *on top* of a voice plan (and assuming you can convince a rep to give it to you since it's meant for PC cards). These new iPhone rates are much better.

Plus, look at the competition -- only Telus has unlimited data for $30, but their voice plans still suck (150 minutes for $30?!). I think Bell dropped their unlimited data plan (at least I couldn't find it on their website) so they're retarded ($100 for 1GB?!)

I mean I agree there should be more competition in Canada, the rates suck compared to the U.S. and much of Europe, but are actually better than some European countries (Sweden and Norway!) http://www.appleinsider.com/articles...in_norway.html

This shit has been going on for years and is no different with what provider you want in Canada. I used to work there and the biggest problem was the huge debtload they have from builidng out the network in the first place 7 years ago when no one cared about mobile data...

btw the IMEI filtering rumor is bullshit, don't believe it, it's not legal...

OK... its the whole thing that stinks...the 3 Year contract (when it should have been 2 years only). The missing option of buying outside of these pethetic plans. The missing option of truly unlimited data (no one wants to worrry about how much data consumed, this is a data centric device). The fact that we waited forever to get this phone in Canada (Europe had it a year before we did!!) only to get these stupid buckets...its B.S. man and everyone in the world knows it...
