[Question]: Unlocking iPhone 3G bought in France (Orange carrier)
Hello
I've bought an iPhone in France and I live in another country. Obviously, it's locked. I can't unlock it officialy calling and paying Orange. The question is will my iPhone work with SIM proxy solutions? Which of them is better?

You just have to give them any email adress and they will warn you when it is done: a few days after!!!
I guess it is not late.....but you would have to come back in France : it is worth it, and any SIM proxy solution is HUGE ZERO compared with a real unlocked iphone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will work with any SIM card, and will accept any official upgrade, and still leaving unlocked forever!!!

No SIM proxy solution will ever give you the functionnality of an official unlocked iphone : they all have huge deficiencies, and will work only a little time!!!
Yes but everytime he needed a repair or needed to trade it in, he would have to go back to france.

I dont want to get into the *sim discussion at all. Just my 2 cent here. If you have the chance, try to get it unlocked in France, it's not too late. If there is any need for repair, it is not true that you have to return it to France. Dont mix up "Support" and "Guarantee". Support is done by Orange France (in this case), so if you got questions on how-to use the phone dont call your local Apple dealer. Best way is to check in here anyway ;-)
Guarantee is a different topic. Using an unlocked 3G on my own I have to say it is fun and at no stress. If you are not able making the trip to France, check with the *sim section here on questions for now.

I guess most others have it unlocked by the carrier in France cause this is the easiest way.
