Okay I am totally new to this..

I want to buy a iPhone, but I don't have a contract with AT&T or anything

I was going to buy a iPhone on ebay, and then unlock it and jailbreak it for t-mobile.


What do I do?

Do I need to buy the iPhone unlocked already? because people told me I need to buy it unlocked already because the sim isnt recognized when i plug it into itunes.

to maintain the unlock, you should follow this tutorial, which will help you get a copy of the FW 3.0 you will need if you ever need to reinstall the firmware and unlock again

Do NOT use iTunes to update to FW 3.1

ONLY FW 3.0 is currently unlockable

I have a 3G data plan + unlim text on my G1 for tmobile, will I get 3G on my iPhone?
