Um so I'm new here and I'm not exactly sure if talking about this goes against forum rules but anyways..


I recently purchased an Iphone from a "friend" that goes to my school. I have reason to belive that the phone has been stolen but I'm kinda doubting it as well. The phone was locked to rogers, but I'm paranoid to go to the store and put the phone on a plan. I gave my friend the phone for a week to test it, he took his sim from his phone and he said that it was working fine.

Could the IMEI number on his sim be connected to his phone? or does it not work taht way.

I just don't wanna have an expensive paperweight jsut sitting on my desk.

It's an iphone 3g btw, not exactly sure what the firmware on it is.
