I have a jailbroken 16GB iphone 3g unlocked via gevey sim running 2.1 firmware. I have set my apn to epc.tmobile.com and i do not have the tzones hack installed. I do subscribe to tzones on my tmobile account, yet even with 4 bars I have no internet.

Is there another setting I have to enable/disable? Is there another step or trigger required to make the phone use the APN settings.

On other forums I've read of individuals getting an error along the lines of "Your subscription does not include this plan", but I don't even get that message, all I get is "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet" If there are any steps or info that I'm missing, please let me know! Thanks!

make sure data roaming is turned on!

Got it work!
For the benefit of anyone else with this problem, the steps I followed were

1. Turned off wifi and data roaming.
2. Reset Network settings
3. Entered epc.tmobile.com into the APN with blank u/p
4. Restarted Phone
5. Enabled Data Roaming
6. BROWSED THE WEB!!

because he's using a sim hack. all networks appear to be roaming when you use sim hacks.

Just curious, if I enable data roaming to get Internet access to work won't the carrier charge you a roaming charge?

Not if you're on your carrier's network!

But there's no reason to use a sim hack anymore, is there, now that yellowsn0w is available?
