Hi im from Dominican Republic and i bought this iphone 3g with version 2.2 baseband 02.28.0 bootloader 5.09 its legally unlocked by Claro communications company here in DR, I want to know if i can update this iphone to any version i restored it to 2.2 again to reset everything and i didnt even had to unlock with yellownsow and i want to know if i can update this iphone to any version and it still will be unlocked?

I use Claro Company and i want to know even if that thing is not marked i can still update to any version and it still will be unlocked?
If you got it brand new & legally unlocked, directly from your carrier, then there is nothing to worry about.

If I am reading this correctly then your iphone is not unlocked. Claro in DR is an official carrier for apple so that is why your phone works. It's like you are saying I bought an iPhone from AT&T and it works with AT&T. Still you should have no problem updating as you say you are using Claro's service. However if you were to put an unsupported sim card in there I don't think it would work.Quote:
