Can someone explain me (english is NOT my native language) , what this sentence mean :
"You have the option to purchase an early upgrade priced at $399 for 8GB (black) or $499 for 16GB (black or white). Two-year contract required."
This is found on the At&T website under the "Current AT&T customer/New to Iphone" FAQ section.

I guess it means if you are already an AT&T customer (contract) with the old 2G iPhone device and 2yr-contract, you can upgrade (before your 2yrs expire) to the 3G iPhone and contract by paying the upgrade fees mentioned (399 for the 8GB and 499 for the 16GB).
But you would still need to renew your contract, so another 2-years contract after your upgrade.
Actually if you have a 2G iphone, you pay the price everyone else is (plus an $18 upgrade fee)... however, if you have any other device and have not fullfilled your 2 year commitment (and are in the "Early upgrade" window... i think 1 year into contract), then you can (according to how i read that sentence), upgrade to the iphone 3G for the above prices.
